One of the ten
Mountain
You do not move, and that is the point of you.
Earth — expansive and outward
A saju chart has eight characters. This is what it means when the one standing for you — the upper character of the day — is this one.
You are what other people build on. Pressure goes into you and does not come back out, and you are usually the last person in the room to panic. You change on a geological timescale. You are not empty inside — you just keep the inside to yourself.
How you land. People treat you as the adult in the room, often before you feel like one. Your stillness reads as authority and as judgement, depending on who is looking, and you are usually being neither. The common misreading is that nothing much is going on inside. A great deal is; you have simply never thought that broadcasting it would help.
When it gets hard. Under pressure you get heavier and quieter. You take on more of the weight rather than distributing it, partly out of duty and partly because asking feels like an admission. This works until it does not, and when it does not the failure is large, because nobody knew how much you were holding. You are the last to say you are struggling and the hardest to help afterwards.
You do your best work when you are trusted with something that genuinely has to last.
What you are good at
- You hold under weight that would buckle other people
- You become the fixed point everyone navigates by
- You keep promises long past the point of convenience
What it costs you
- You move so slowly that the opportunity closes first
- You absorb strain instead of naming it
- You call it loyalty when it has become inertia
Whether this is yours depends on the day you were born, not the year — so it is not something you can work out from your animal. It takes a date, a time and a place.
