How this is calculated
Palja turns a birth moment into the four pillars of Korean saju and explains them in English. Everything below is checkable, which is the only kind of claim worth printing on a page like this.
No machine is writing about you
There is no language model here and no request to one. Every sentence you read was written in advance by a person and is selected by the chart, so the same birth details give the same words today and in a year. Two people with the same eight characters get the same reading, which is the point.
That also means nothing you enter is used to train anything, because nothing you enter leaves your browser.
Your birth details never reach a server
The chart is computed in the page, on your device. Birth details travel in the part of the address after the # — a fragment, which browsers never transmit — so they appear in no server log, here or anywhere the site is hosted.
The consequence is worth knowing: the link in your address bar contains your birth date, time and city. Anyone you send it to can read them. Every reading page has a button that copies a clean link instead.
Where the calendar comes from
A saju chart turns on the sun, not the clock. Your recorded time is corrected for the distance between your longitude and the meridian your time zone is set to, and for summer time where it was in force — historical offsets come from the standard time zone database, so a Tokyo birth in 1948 and a London birth in 1970 are handled as they actually were.
The months turn on the twelve solar terms rather than on calendar months, and the year opens at the start of spring in early February. Each reading shows its own working, so you can see the correction applied to your time and which boundary your chart sits on.
What is calculation and what is judgement
The pillars, the elements, the ten-year cycles and the relations between signs are arithmetic. They are checked on every build against an independent implementation — a suite of roughly 237,000 assertions, including the published ten-year tables of a Korean insurer, reproduced exactly.
Everything else is interpretation: which fields suit a chart, what a decade is for, what a shape means for money or health. That is a model, not a measurement, and the pages say so where it matters. A chart that is subtly wrong looks exactly like a chart that is right, which is why the two halves are kept apart.
What it will not do
It will not tell you that something is going to happen to you. Ages, tendencies and tensions are in a chart; accidents, illnesses and marriages are not, and a reading that invents them is fiction with a calendar attached.
It is a frame for reflection and not a forecast, not a diagnosis, and not advice on your health, your money or your relationships.
Coverage
Births from 1900 to 2100, in any of the cities the form offers across forty-nine countries. Without a birth time the hour pillar is left out rather than guessed, and the reading says so and reports its proportions as the coarser numbers they then are.
There is no account, no payment and no tracking. Nothing is stored between visits.
